Zygomycosis means: Zygomycosis is a potentially deadly, serious infection caused by fungi of the Zygomycetes class. Zygomycosis occurs most frequently in those who have already been diagnosed with diseases such as AIDS or burns, corticosteroids and poorly managed diabetes. Untreated, the fungal infection may spread to the lungs, other organs, blood vessels, eyes and brain. The treatment involves treating the root cause and using antifungal medication to treat the fungal infection.
