Wise Men of the East means in the bible: Matt. 2-12 says that twelve wise men, whose number is unknown, were led by a new star and came to Bethlehem in order to worship Jesus after his birth. We don’t know the identity of these wise men, but we do know that they weren’t ordinary men. They were granted the opportunity to find and present gifts to Jesus Christ, as well as being spiritually sensitive and highly knowledgeable. This suggests they were prophets who were on divine missions. It is grossly inaccurate to call them astrologers as they are commonly referred to. Evidently, they were holy men hailing from the east of Palestine. Also see Magi.
