Vasovagal reactions cause the heart to reduce bradycardia while also allowing the nerves that connect to blood vessels in the legs, to allow those vessels to widen. This causes the heart to pump less blood and the blood pressure to drop. The blood that is currently circulating is more likely to flow into the legs than the head. When oxygen is cut off, the brain experiences fainting.
