Tammuz means in the bible: Adonis, Greek. Babylonian gods of spring killed by heat in summer, and winter cold killing the gods of summer. Tammuz’s “weeping” was an autumn festival, which was meant to be a lament about the decline of Ezek. 8:14. Tammuz, the Jewish name used for July or June after the Captivity, was Tammuz.
