Talipes means: Talipes: Clubfoot. Latin for “talipes” is talus ankle + pes feet. This was because the typical clubfoot talipes Equinovarus type, which has the foot turned in sharply, makes the person appear to be walking on the ankle. Talipes Equinovalgus is a malformation of the foot that is evident from birth. The heel is raised like a horse’s hoof and is turned outwards valgus.
