- This is an idea that only the most sane person would agree to. Texas, unlike many other states, is an economic powerhouse right now. People are afraid that Obama’s higher taxes will ruin the economy so they suggest seceding. It is quite stupid. Texas would need to create their own federal programs. All fortune 500 companies in Texas will move to another state and the US will embargo all Texas products. This is just a short summary of what I mean. Texas’ secession would not only be devastating for Texas but also for America. It’s funny to see people believe Texas can secede, even though Texas chose to remain a U.S. State in 1845.
