Sarah or Sarai means in the bible: Sarah is the name of a “princess”. She was Abraham’s wife. The name Sarai, which could mean “contentions” or more likely another spelling of Sarah is used from Gen. 11/29-17/15. Before Abraham left Ur, she was married to Abraham. She became the mother to Isaac Gen. 21. Her husband died earlier than her and she was buried at Hebron in the Cave of Machpelah Gen. 23.2. Also see Isa. 51:2; Rom. 4:19; Heb. 11:11; 1 Pet. 3:6.
