Sabbath day’s journey means in the bible: It was the distance that the law permitted a man walk on Sabbath. The rabbis used a forceful and unnatural interpretation to Ex. 16:29 fixed it at 2,000 cubits. This is the distance between Ark and people on the march through the wilderness Josh. 3:4, which is also the tradition’s distance between the tabernacle, and the farthest point of the camp. Acts 1:2.
