Rehoboam means in the bible: The Ammonite princess Naamah gave Solomon’s son 1 Kgs. 14.21.31, and his successor in kingdom 1 Kgs. 11:43. The division occurred between the north and south of 1 Kgs during his reign. 12 was largely due to an old rivalry between Judah, Ephraim. Rehoboam attempted to calmen the situation by traveling to Shechem to become crowned. Many discontent was also caused by Solomon’s strict government and Rehoboam refusing to ease the burdens 1 Kgs. 12:1-11.
