Obed-edom means in the bible: Edom Servant. Levite from the family Kohath, called a Gittite as he was from the Levitical City of Gath-rimmon. For six months, the Ark was kept in his home 2 Sam. 6:10-12; 1 Chr. 13:13-14. 13:13-14. 15:24-25; 16:5, 38. The temple storehouse (1 Chr.) was kept by his family. 26:4, 8, 15; 2 Chr. 25:24.
