Myrrh means in the bible: This is used in preparation of Ex. Used in purification of women Esth. 2:22; used as perfume Ps. 45:8. Song 1, Song 2, 3-5, and John 19, 39. This was extracted from many thorny shrubs in the eastern and dry regions of Arabia. Myrrh, as it is called in Gen. 37.25 and 43.11 respectively, refers to the gum from the rock rose.
