Laryngeal papillomatosis means: A condition called laryngeal or vocal chord papillomatosis. It is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) which causes numerous warty growths. This virus can be contracted through the “vaginal canal” of a woman who has genital warts. Young children below 3 years old are most likely to have laryngeal, but it can also occur in older kids. Unfortunately, laryngeal-papillomatosis recurrences are common. After several years, remission might occur.
