Kartagener syndrome means: Kartagener syndrome is a genetic condition that causes sinusitis, inflammation and bronchiectasis broadening of the bronchi and dextrocardia on the right side. Kartagener syndrome can be inherited autosomally. Kartagener syndrome usually results from mutations in the DNAI1 gene on chromosome 9. Linkage studies indicate that Kartagener syndrome may be more than one entity. Also called ciliary dyskinesia.
