The obstruction is caused by obstruction in the channels of the duodenum and pylorus through which the stomach drains. It could be benign or malignant diseases that cause the obstruction. Pancreatic cancer is the most frequent cause of gastric outflow obstruction. Gastric outflow obstruction can be caused by benign conditions such as gastric polyps and gastric ulcer in adults.
