Ezekiel means in the bible: God will give strength. Priest of Zadok’s family, one of the prisoners taken by Nebuchadnezzar with Jehoiachin. He settled on Tel Abib, Chebar, and prophesied for 22 years (592-570 B.C.). There are four major divisions in the book of Ezekiel: 1-24, judgments against Jerusalem and Israel; 2-25-32, predictions against Israel’s enemies. 3 33-39 is a prophecy of restoration. 4-40-48 contains visions about the reconstruction and worship of the temple.
