Chariot means in the bible: Vehicle, used mainly for war purposes. 14:7; Josh. 17:18; Judg. 1:19; 4:3; 1 Sam. 13:5. The Israelites had very few chariots up until the time David 1 Sam. 8:11-12. In later years, a regular force maintained 2 Sam. 8:4; 1 Kgs. 10:26. Chariots were also used by the armies fighting against Israel, like those of Syria 2 Sam. 8:4; 2 Kgs. 8:21; 2 Kgs. 19.23. The Persians Isa. 22:6-7. 22:6-7.
