Chaldea means in the bible: Babylonia’s eastern portion, which was south of Babylon. However, the name was occasionally used by Jeremiah after his days to refer to the entire district that lies between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. In Dan. 2:2, 10, the name refers to a class of Babylonian scholars who studied astrology.
