Cardiac myxoma means: Cardiac myxoma is a benign heart tumor and one of the most prevalent types of heart cancer in adults. Cardiac myxomas may occur in isolated cases or as part of inherited syndromes such as the Carney complex. Some families have the Carney complex variant as well as the trismus-pseudocamptodactyly syndrome Hecht syndrome. This Carney complex variant is caused by a mutation in the perinatal Myosin Heavy Chain. It suggests that contractile proteins mutated play an important role in cardiac myxomas development.
