Calcinosis cutis means: Calcinosis Cutis is a condition where calcium deposits build up under the skin. It can be caused by many conditions but most often dystrophic calciumification. This is when calcium deposits form in response to tissue injury or healing. This can also be observed in people with benign or malignant tumors, inflammation and certain skin infections. Some people may feel firm lumps or nodules beneath their skin.
