Baroparesis means: Baroparesis is a condition that causes reversible paralysis to the facial nerve. This can be caused by pressure rising in the middle of the ear from scuba diving or going up in planes. This is usually caused by an impairment of Eustachian tubes, which causes excessive pressure to the middle ears. Temporary paralysis is caused by the excessive pressure within the middle ear. The ear pressure will return to normal after landing on a plane, or when you surface in scuba diving. Nerve paralysis should subside. Avoid recompression as it can further injure the facial nerve. Alternobaric facial nerve palsy is also known.
